Fashion extends beyond more than just what you wear, it also spills over into your home. The way you dress up your home can have a direct impact on your mood. This leads us to talk about bedding. Considering organic bedsheets can be just as important as organic bedding. The caveat? The downside is that organic is more expensive than conventional sheets. Sadly, these days it costs more to do what’s right. Going organic is important not only for clothing but also for towels and sheets, whenever possible (more on that here).
We’ve gathered a few companies that offer organic and fair-trade options for bedsheets! 🙂 We’re featuring different ideas below, in no particular order, to suit different tastes and budgets.
West Elm has a “Green” collection, with products being responsibly produced, certified organic, recycled, rapidly renewable and/or non-toxic. We reckon these sheets would look good with a neutral solid duvet.
2. Coyuchi. Coyuchi is a company from Northern California making beautiful fair-trade organic bedding inspired by the natural world. Their bedding is absolutely perfect for creating your organic nest. Watch the Coyuchi video here to understand their beautiful philosophy and why they do what they do! Coyuchi is definitely on our radar!
3. CB2.Available at Crate & Barrel, CB2 offers up bedding made with GOTS-certified organic cotton, inks and dyes. Their style is colourful and fun, all while being extremely well made.
CB2’s sheets are soft yet crisp, meaning we love them, but also hate them for making it impossible to leave our beds! 🙂
4. Plover Organic: Happy and Healthy Bedding! Looking for a splash of colour in your bedroom? Plover Organic is a stylish and comfortable brand making organic sheets, bedding, crib bedding, throw pillows, and more. Made from the best quality GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton, which makes it better for you, your family, your home and the environment.
5. Anna Sova. We love Anna Sova. Their luxurious organic cotton linens are made according to fair-trade practice and contain no chemical bleaches, azodyes, formaldehyde or heavy metal dyes.
Not only do they make SKAL-certified organic bedding, they also make non-toxic paints. Hallelujah! 99% of the paint’s ingredients are food-grade, so it’s nearly edible (don’t try this at home!). 😉
And that’s how the cookie crumbles. Let us know if organic bedding is important for you or not in the comments section! 🙂
